Travis Lawrence Manager, Funeral Director/Embalmer, Crematory Operator

Travis has been involved in the funeral business in various capacities since 1996. He graduated in 2001 with a B.S. from LSU in Human Resources Management, in 2003 with an M.B.A. from Nicholls State University, and in 2005 with an A.S in Mortuary Studies from Delgado Community College. He is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and crematory retort operator. In addition, he manages the day to day operations of the funeral home. Travis enjoys the beach, camping, spending time at the lake fishing or boat riding, and spending time with family and friends. He is married to Reagan, who teaches at a local Catholic elementary school in Thibodaux. Together, they have one son, Wyatt.

Jared grew up in the shadow of the funeral home. A 5th generation member of the family owned business, he received his Funeral Director/Embalmer’s license after attending Delgado Community College’s Mortuary Studies in New Orleans, LA. He is also a graduate of Nicholls State University. He is an acting Manager of the funeral home, overseeing the daily management and operation of it. As a licensed funeral director/embalmer, his duties include embalming, funeral arrangements, removals, cosmetics, dressing, casketing, and funeral services. He is married to Michelle Kees. Together, they have 4 children.

Stephen grew up in the shadow of the funeral home and began actually working there in 1989. A 5th generation member of the family owned business, he received his Funeral Director/Embalmer’s license in 2003 after attending Delgado Community College’s Mortuary Studies in New Orleans, LA. He is also a graduate of Nicholls State University. He is an acting Manager of the funeral home, overseeing the daily management and operation of it. As a licensed funeral director/embalmer, his duties include embalming, funeral arrangements, removals, cosmetics, dressing, casketing, and funeral services. He is husband to Mary Truxillo Kees, and they enjoy traveling, the outdoors, fishing, and the culinary arts.

Walton Guidry Jr. Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Walton Guidry, Jr. (known as “Jr.”) has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over 40 years. He began his career in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict, when he was assigned to Grave Registration. After his tour of duty, he attended Commonwealth College of Mortuary Science in Houston, TX. He is married to Malvina Guidry, who he has known since elementary school, and they have two children and one grandson. He and Malvina now reside in Thibodaux, but they were both born and raised down Bayou DuLarge. Since he was the oldest of 8 children of a fisherman, Bayou DuLarge will always be his home. He enjoys fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

After working and completing his funeral service internship for 2 years in New Orleans, Glenn J. Bergeron II has now been a member of the funeral home staff since 2005. As a licensed embalmer / funeral director and crematory retort operator, his duties include embalming, funeral arrangements, removals, cosmetics, dressing, casketing, and funeral services. He earned a B.A. in Languages & Literature from Nicholls State University in 1998 followed by an A.S. in Mortuary Studies from Delgado Community College in 2005. He has two sons, Aodhan and Matthias, and enjoys the study of theology, philosophy, literature, and thanatology

Sarah K. Larose Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Sarah has been around the funeral business all of her life as the daughter of Craig Kees, a co-owner of Thibodaux Funeral Home. In high school, she began working at the funeral home during the summers and continued to work in the funeral business after graduating. She took a hiatus in order to attend Nicholls State University and returned to the family business in June 2015, where she now fulfills her duties as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. She enjoys novels, crocheting, and playing with her two dogs, Daisy and Marley. Since May 2014, she has been married to Brett LaRose.

Vincent Hollier Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Earning an Associate of Funeral Service degree from Delgado Community College of New Orleans in 2018, Vincent Hollier is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He entered the funeral industry in 2015, after also earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2011 from Nicholls State University of Thibodaux. His personal interests include attending music concerts and New Orleans Pelicans and Saints games. He lives with his girlfriend, Cami Pitre, and her daughter, Roen Gaudet, their dog, Jabba, and two cats, Merlin and Buttons.

Currently fulfilling her internship to gain State licensure as a funeral director, Gabby entered the funeral service profession in August 2016. A graduate of Central Lafourche High School, she currently attends Nicholls State University, where she pursues a Bachelor of Science in pre-Medicine/Biology. She plans to eventually also begin a career in forensic pathology as an autopsy technician. Gabby is the oldest of three sisters and the second person in her family working toward a career in the funeral service profession.

Graduating from Nicholls State University with a degree in Business Administration, Jack has been in the funeral business since 1985 as a pre-need consultant. He is married to Barbara Clement of Houma, LA, and they have three children and six grandchildren. Two of his children graduated from Nicholls State University and one from Louisiana State University. His personal interests are sports and sports afield.

Returning to the funeral home in 2016, Melissa is the office administrator where her duties include assisting the funeral directors and all administrative duties. Melissa is a 1996 graduate of Thibodaux High School, who has worked in the fields of finance, accounting, and customer service. Married to Lance Duet with children Seth, Will, and Luke, Melissa enjoys cooking, fishing, traveling and event planning.

Since retiring after 33 years as a Communications Specialist Supervisor with the Louisiana State Police, Wayne Landry has worked at the funeral home for 13 years. A Terrebonne High School graduate, his duties include removals, hearse maintenance, and facility maintenance. He has been married to his wife, Joel, for 46 years. They have one son, Kai, 3 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter. Wayne enjoys anything to do with aeronautics, airplanes, model airplanes, music, and spending time with his family.

Retired from the U.S. Army, Adam Chouest is an invaluable asset to the funeral home with preparing the funeral home for visitations, greeting families, assisting on funerals and burials, and carrying out memorial services just a few among many. He has completed numerous military educational courses and worked in several fields since his military retirement. Working at the funeral home, he says, is gratifying because he enjoys helping families and being a people person. He’s been happily married to Eva Mae Chouest for 38 years. They have a son, John Chouest, and one granddaughter, Jaelyn Chouest.

He’s worked in the field of computers for 50 years, beginning at NASA and retiring from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff Department. He is a widower with one daughter in Florida.
